We have SKY HD plus a Toshiba DVD/VHS Recorder. On Friday we had a new carpet laid and had to disconnect TV/SKY & DVD Recorder. Hubby marked the relevant skart leads etc. but after reconnecting we can't set the timer programme to record on DVD/VHS recorder. Unit is stuck on AV1/AV2 & can't select TV channels. He's been trying to get it working for the last 3 days:mad: & he's tried everything but with no success. We can play back with no problem but just can't record. Thankfully SKY is fine but it's just very annoying that everything was perfect before we disconnected & now it's not. Can anyone offer any help & advice ? many thanks in advance.

Bit difficult to understand, is that two problems ie wont record anything and can't select the tuner as input.
A VCR I had years ago would lock sometimes. The manual advised switching the unit off at the wall socket for about 3 minutes to re-set it.
If you've tried that I'm not sure what else to suggest.0 -

I can't fathom your problem.
If the Sky Box is connected to the recorder with SCART, wouldn't you select AV1 or AV2 to record from it?
Are you trying to record terrestrial channels via an aerial, or only from the Sky box?
Are you saying that you can't select channels 1, 2 etc when using channel selection, or only when trying to set a timer recording?0 -
Of course if the OPs area has been switched over to digital then assuming the DVD VHS combo has an analogue tuner it would not receive anything. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

It only lets us move from AV1 to AV2 but no channels available.
OK, getting there - what's the model no. of the Toshiba?0 -
