I'm quite Jeckyll and Hyde about groceries. Sometimes I go all earth mother domestic goddess granma and make everything from scratch. Cheaper, satisfying, and I really enjoy it.
Other times I completely buy into pre prepped and ready made.
Nice to have the choice.0 -

I won't pay 2 quid for pre-prepared gravy as it always tastes vile.

Better still, arrange for the kids to have a holiday with Gran/Auntie etc - whoever you have who is reliable and trustworthy - and have a holiday on your own (doesn't need to be expensive) - holidays with kids are rarely holidays, I find

My sentiments exactly - and I speak from experience - thank god I didn't pour the sludge on my crimbo dinner but decided to taste it first but the mash was lush X0
