Hi

I got the Parking Charge Notice for using the taxi stand for 2-3 min but the dates of the images are wrong.

I appealed about the dates being wrong but my appeal was rejected with explanation that you might as well have used the taxi stand on that "wrong dates". They are adamant about it giving technical detail that the cctv camera cannot go wrong. I am 100% confident that the date are wrong. I went to pick couple of student and they can sign as witness. I went to my local councillor and she too wrote a letter but of no use.

Not sure should I re appeal or just pay it. If my appeal is refused again then I will end up paying £120 instead of £60.

But you used a taxi bay when you shouldn't, did you not?

Whilst its possible you could get off on a technicality, you broke the law as they have a photo of you parked in the taxi rank.

Yeah, lets do away with these tedious technicalities like the authorities having to get minor details like dates & times right before they issue fines.

OP….If you are sure you weren’t parked there when they say you were (and have witnesses) then appeal it.

Yes I accepted that I parked on a date other then what the image says. But I appeal on technicality as suggested by my local councillor. I fear if I re appeal and they are still adamant about the dates then I will end of paying double.

    OP, forget technicalities, it’s black & white……..

either you were there when they say you were in which case pay the fine

Or you weren’t there when they say you were in which case appeal & don’t pay

OP, go to the parking forums on pepipoo.com, where you will receive some helpful advice. You'll need to show them all of your ticket (front and back).

There is a specific wording that the council must adhere to and they MUST get the dates and figerus correct; otherwise, the PCN is not enforceable.

I don't see why the other posters on here think it's wrong for the driver to make a mistake/contravene the regulations, but it's OK for the council to do so. It's not a loophole or a technicality - it is written into the law.

ETA: They also have abide by certain rules re CCTV - you'll need to check all that out, too.

op, dont admit you were there on another date, just provide proof you were'nt there on the date the ticket says you were.

My better half had a PCN which came with a photo with the date on. The day and month were correct but the year was wrong. A letter to say this ended up with the council cancelling it "on this one occasion"
