    hello,

I don't have anything to offer you as it's not something I know anything about, but you may be better posting this on the child support board? i'm sure you will get the answers you need from there. good luck

The CSA give everyone a protected earnings threshold. Which means no deduction can be made if it leaves the person lower than this amount as a take home pay. As your ex is on maternity leave, as far as I am aware, no deductions can be made from statutory maternity pay. If she is getting paid more than SMP a deduction can be made as long as it doesn't leave her take home pay lower than her protected earnings.

Also CSA cannot make a deduction relating to one child, which would be to the detrement of another, so when she has this child her protected earnings will probably increase.

I think that even though they don't deduct the money if it would take the NRP below the earnings threshold the maintenance is still owed. This happened to my DH once but they took double the week after.
