Xbox 360 Hd Dvd Players In Stock

Mine has just arrived from softuk - ordered late on 14th Dec.

It is the USA version - includes remote and King Kong HD-DVD

Needed to put a UK plug on the mains lead but no big issue.

V. Pleased.

HD DVDs are region free so it will still play UK discs or any disc for that matter.
Your 360 determines the player's region code.

Thanks for this. Still concerned though - despite anything else, what about the tv type having an impact on it. NTSC versus PAL (or am I speaking in analogue!).

I can alwasy recall seeeing a NTSC DVD and it was a tad stuttery!

Looks like on SD DVD's that the region is set by the console and not the drive.

I noticed a few people here have ordered form Softuk, i ordered form there yesterday and im wondering what the chances are of me getting delivered before xmas. Im guessing if some of you ordered fromt here last week and only received today then my chances are slim. Ive read posts about there customer service not being great but i called them yesterday and after 2 rings i was talking to someone and they advised that as long as i ordered yesterday i would receive before xmas. Im now thinking this was sales talk.

Anyway im glad to hear of others receiving there drives!

Possibly in stock at some pc worlds now. Able to put in basket for "in store" pick up, but none in stock in the midlands

Ive done some tests and entered just about anywhere in the country i could think of and it seems no stores have any. Im guessing this means they are either getting ready to release stock and this is the first stage of it, or we have infact already missed out. Ive ordered from softuk and i had to place the order again today. If i call them in morning and its not been processed ill check pc world again and hopefully they might have some there.

Im not sure what they will do though as apprently they still dont have stock to fill all pre orders so i dont know if they would just let others buy them first.

But who knows, anything for a quick buck i guess

Preordered an HDDVD addon on the 16th November from PC World. After GAME cancelled my original order as they had no allocation of units at the launch.

Made many calls to PC World and was assured that they had just received a big delivery and were filling all preorders as we spoke, last friday.

Today I called again and they have no delivery until next year .

Cancelled the order.

Lying xmas grinch of the year award goes to...

Mine has arrived from softuk, which isnt bad considering i had some problems with the order (my fault, payment didnt go through for some reason) The order was originally placed on Tuesday but didnt go through until yesterday. It arrived today at 14:30 i would really recommend this company and i will be using them again.

I just wanted to share my experience with others trying to get hold of one of these drives
