Im told you will get the free king kong hd dvd and a remote control as its the first batch microsoft released. As soon as you plug it into your xbox 360 console it will be uk region code although i heared that the xbox 360 hd dvd player is not region locked anyway?

The hd drive is region free and you've heard correctly as too the first ones that ship come with King Kong HD movie

I've seen this in stock at dvdboxoffice based in Canada, and it works out at approx £136 delivered and says in stock shipped 1-5 days. Also says Region 1 so can anyone confirm that these really are region free?? Cheers.

The HD-DVD players are region free for HD-DVD's at the minute, as no HD-DVD movies have region coding on them yet.
Standard Definition (SD-DVD) DVD's are still region coded on the HD-DVD, depending on the region of your XBOX 360 console.
If you bought your 360 in the UK, and your HD-DVD Drive from the USA, you can only watch SD-DVD movies from Region 2, and at the minute, HD-DVD Movies from any region in the world.

For playing HD-dvd's it will be region free as there is no regional coding on the disks (at the moment) but it will be locked to region 2 for standard def dvd's!
