What is the quality of picture via the player. Is it a better investment than a stand alone HDMI dvd player?

Just tried the softuk link again and it now says in stock and has let me order one. which is different to ealier. Hopefully i will get this b4 xmas and install next to my wii (lol)

This isn't an ordinary DVD player - it is a HD DVD player (High Definition DVD). HD DVD is the new generation of optical media which can store 3-6 times more data than regular DVDs.

A DVD Player with HDMI output would simply upscale a standard definition DVD so that it 'fits' the higher resolution HD Television. On the other hand, if you play a HD DVD on a HD DVD player (such as the xbox 360 one) with a HDTV, you will get a true high definiition picture, not just one which has been stretched from a conventional dvd.

Ditto, it's money making grunts like him that makes it hard work for people like me and others of course to find one in stock anywhere. I'm all for making money but not taking the p**s.

Nope, i sold them after i received them. As for being greedy, if fools can't be bothered to check the online stores regularly for stock, then i have no sympathy for those that pay over the odds on ebay.

Where am i taking the p**s? So what if i bought 6 drives, if you had got there first then i'm sure you would have been tempted. I'm "all for making money" too and from this little deal made £600 (minus ebay fees), it's not a huge amount in the grand scheme of things and the money is being used to pay off my debt.
And i take objection to your remark of "money making grunt", you have no idea who i am or my circumstances so less of the assumptions and derogatory comments please :rolleyes:

I can not see the difference between doing this and a golden R & R. If people stopped buying them on ebay there would be no demand for you to do this so the problem would be solved. I blame Ebay

Agreed but there was plenty in stock when I ordered and could of ordered 10 if I wanted but didn't. Should the stores themselves not limit the amount of stock you can buy to keep more people happy?

just got my hd drive today from play asia and it works perfect
and no import duty , on took 4 days
