Fed up with petrol prices!!

Strider I don't care about climate change , I just want everyone off the roads, I suggest an additional £3 tax per litre on private sales, that should do the trick.
Since the price of petrol has risen, the roads are a lot quieter, but it's not enough!
I'm not completely selfish.....
The price of petrol/oil rises then it has a knock on effect on food, manufactured goods and services.
Better to levy a fee on every TV owned in the house and do away with child benefit I'd say as if less children are being born then less cars on the road.0 -

Garage in Kensington opposite the Bristol car showroom had petrol at £1.66 :eek:0 -
The idiot who wants petrol/diesel to go up will also find everything else will go up... does a teleport deliver food to your local supermarket... or clothes to all the shops?
Your only looking at it from a perspective of people driving.. not the knock on effect it has.
People will lose jobs, businesses will close, items wont get delivered... and the domino effect continues. It may sound like people are exaggerating but look at all the companies that have shut down now due to the squeeze, add fuel prices onto that and its going to happen0 -
I don't like the way petrol prices have gone up either, but if I want to drive there is no getting out of paying. I changed my car for a smaller engine model, I removed all clutter from the boot, lighter = better fuel consumption, and I drive gently with no harsh braking or fast acceleration, and only drive at 55 - 60mph on the motorway. I have also stopped using the car for short journeys into town, we have a bus service and I have a bus pass.
IlonaI love skip diving.0 -
Where has all this "doubling in a year" nonsense come from?
Fuel at my local Sainsbury/Tesco/Morrisons is £1.279/l. I am damn sure it wasn't 64p/l this time last year....0 -

I agree, it has nearly doubled in the last ten years though. 2001/2002 petrol was well under 80p litre now its around £1.30 so not quite double. Take into consideration inflation and it hasn't really risen that much. The jump does seem steep though as over the previous years it has risen by a pence or two if that then in the last 3 years-ish its been jumping up 10-20p a quarter which makes it a lot more noticeable. Last year (possibly the year before) it was around the £1 mark and this year its anywhere from £1.39-£1.70 a litre.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -

But you spent money on a car?
Cost of car versus fuel saving, did you really save anything?“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I feel like Alan Partridge where he meets that Dan for the first time, and realises he has everything in common.0 -
What is annoying is the lack of transparency from the oil companies and petrol retailers. There is a dire need for some government body to regulated fuel prices, just like OFCOM do for TV, Radio etc and Ofgem for Electricity.
Prices have NOT come down enough when oil dropped by $15+ a barrel. It is back up to $116 today, still $10 shy of recent highs, but you watch as they creep up 1p during the next week or so and blame high prices, yet the price never dropped.0 -
I was born in the time of the car, I love cars especially fast thirsty one's not these little 1.0 cars that everyone is being forced to drive nowadays with the high prices,
I believe I was born in a time where we could use what was given to us, If it runs out then we find another way of doing things but it's unfair to be punished for using what we have right now, If the government want us to crack down on our fuel usage why dont they stop fighting america's war and save all that fuel on jets, Choppers and tanks instead of punishing me for working hard and wanting a nice car.
Im sure many will disagree and thats fine it's just my humble opinionI dont have to show riches, To pull up, Pull of with some bad b*tches, It's about my persona, Aint nothing like a man that can do what he wanna0
