Wow, you've made such an attack on your mortgage! Well done! Our interest is so low, we are saving and pay off in a chunk down the line instead.

Is the mrs going to ask for a bigger house soon :)

    Hi anoncol,

Barring recent unforseen circumstances I'm fairly single minded and resolute in wanting to clear the mortgage.

The ability to relax a bit and decide what to do appeals to me greatly.

No plans for a bigger house, bunk beds can be used if needed in the future!

I could not keep the Emergency Fund. The call of the Overpayments was too much for me to bear.

Very naughty I know, but I always had a Credit Card to fall back on if needed.

If I did get caught out, then the OP's would have stopped and the EF would have been saved up again (hopefully), after clearing any New Debts.
The irony is that by the time you can comfortably afford to save an emergency fund you are financially secure enough to not really need one :D.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

    Hi princess,

Ultimately there is only one maybe two tips.
    It boils down to Prioritisation:

1 - use spare cash for overpayments
2 - make spare cash (we made spare cash by going without things we did not really need but desired a lot, there are other methods available to suit different people)

Yet again, the unexpected has happened again and will delay significantly.
Overpayments has gone down the priority list for the time being.

The pace has slowed down, but another Over Payment done, see how long it takes.

    1.5K left to go......

still undecided as whether to completely pay off the mortgage or leave a small amount for future borrowing purposes if required (possibly required), ideas anyone?
