there used to be an M&S food shop in Tweedmouth, about 2 miles out of Berwick main street over the Bridge towards the A1 havent been for a while but presume it is still there as it was always busy
  • I love that area of the country:)
The sausages from the butcher in Bamburgh are lovely and there is a tiny veggie greengrocer type shop nearby, I can't remember what their prices were like though.
There's a lovely pub in Seahouses called the Black Swan - around the back of the main streets which does food Thurs, Fri and Saturday but you probably need to book. There's a reasonably large co-op in seahouses as well and a bakery almost opposite it which does lovely bread and stottie loaves.
We found it worthwhile to join the national trust on one of their special deals if you're going to be out and about. It covered landing on the Farne islands, Cragside house (a beautiful Victorian house and gardens - the original home of the Armstrongs who then bought Bamburgh castle), Lindisfarne castle on Holy island, Dunstanble castle (a lovely walk from Craster) and we saved quite a lot.
    Do enjoy yourselves:)
I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly :D

check this link for marksies store near you. If you don't know how to find them, use google map , get directions function.

OK, going by what you have said i would probably take

Cereal, milk, tea coffee etc. Ketchup/condiments (stuff you have at home anyway to save buying it again), bacon, eggs, cheese, salad dressing, butter, disposable barbie?, etc. Maybe take pasta or rice or something to easily cook up some grub. You could take stuff to make pasta sauce .

Just dont stress about it too much - it is your honeymoon but with a little preparation you will be fine :)
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

If you have room in your luggage/car boot, would it be worth taking the contents of a picnic basket with you, things like a thermos, lunch boxes, a picnic rug, even a basket or cold box with ice packs if you have them. It's the kind of stuff that a self-catering place probably won't have and would make life much easier if you decide to make picnic lunches before going out.

Have a lovely day on the 9th.

and perhaps just be alone with the sunset beach!! (sickly huh!)

    Thanks in advance

Does the beach allow disposable barbeques, that would be romantic all wrapped up warm on a deserted beach :)

    Hi elgar  congratulations!

My ex comes from Morpeth so I've spent a fair amount of time in the area. Seahouses is lovely and I recommend some chips on the beach. If you can afford it a boat trip out to see the seals and islands is great :D. Alnwick castle is brilliant as is Bamburgh castle.

I'd recommend taking your own cereals/bread and maybe a few tins for easy breakfasts and lunches. I aslo agree that taking flasks/lunch boxes would be a good idea :)

Hope all goes well for your wedding and honeymoon ;)
