Where's the best place to start for someone who has never had a mobile phone!

My advice would be to visit a phone shop, one of the major networks, i.e. Orange, T-Mobile etc.

They should let you play with any phone you like and explain all the functions and how it works etc.

In doing this though, you do leave yourself open to the sales 'patter'. So as long as your happy fending off the sales staff then this should help you familiarise yourself with the handsets.

Or alternatively, why not play around with your friends mobile phones? A great way to learn more about them.
