If I was you I would keep checking the Carphone Warehouse website or ringing them on 0870 087 0870 as I have been told that they do have some more stock in the warehouse and they will come "into stock" on the system at some point? Some fab true bargains to be had if so.

Click on "View Deal" to see stock availability.

Micro direct have a refurbished Samsung N145 netbook with 3 months warranty for £156 inc vat.
You can check the reviews on Amazon which are pretty good and BTW it sells for £206 on there.
You get windows 7 starter edition along with a 250GB drive, 1GB ram, 10.1" screen and an intel
atom N450 CPU. I have an older samsung nc-10 which I am very happy with, so this newer Samsung
should serve you well if you don't mind the limited 3 month warranty.

But if you had clicked on the link yesterday when i wrote it there was 3 half price yesterday morning .The Samsung N250 was £135 yesterday morning and Hp Mini and that Toshiba one was still half price when i put the link on here.I think £135 for a Samsung and £119 for a Hp Mini is as a bargain.

Sorry! I wasn't having a go just that the Toshiba AC100 isn't a bargain someone "not very techie" might read the thread and think it is - it's only 512mb & 8gb Hard drive, you can get a lot better spec for £175!

I agree all the others are a total bargain - I know I bought one......or two (still waiting for second!!) ;):D

It is not a conventional Netbook, so not really of much use. That was the only one available at the time. The other obviously went in between the time that you posted and when I clicked on the link.

I agree. The Toshiba is pants.

It's got an ARM Coretex A9 processor instead of a CPU from the typical Intel/AMD x86 processor range. There will hardly be any software for the AC100. Everything will have to be compiled especially for the A9 architecture.

There is apparently a port of Ubuntu Linux for the A9 CPU but once enthusiast interest in that has wained, the Toshiba AC100 will soon fall obsolete.

I saw similar ARM-based netbooks advertised in an insert to the sunday newspaper. They were £80 and that was months ago.

The acer aspire one's have a great community and are easy to upgrade, i have one and popped 1gb of ram in (£3.50 on ebay) and stuck windows 7 on it (couldnt get to grips with linux).
