    Just subscribed!
i haven't had chance to read all of the thread yet, looking forward to that when I get a mo!
I'm quite organised already (previous 2 years I've not been organised at all and I hated the rushing, especially when the weather messed up deliveries etc!), got a the female side of the families presents sorted - just need to make into hamper or make 'pretty', just the men to do (always hard!), got a 2 pressies for my daughter (in the sale), but need to get my hubby something. He really wants an ipad (he hasn't asked for one though), but I think this is pushing my budget to say the least (i only work part time!).
I also have cards which I bought in the sale last year.

    I love christmas!

What about a wooden train track that you can keep adding to?
Thomas the Tank Engine range seems endless.

My LO will be 2 and a half at xmas, i bought him a busy reading system, a thomas bike, a vtech smile console for his main presents and then lots of smaller ones too. Disney Dvds always go down well.

thanks hun, a bike we were going to get for his birthday as he loves the outside, my OH mentioned the vtech smile so will have a look. dvds are always great for rainy days and LO will sit for longer now too so will have a look around, he loved watching shrek and 101 dalmatians the other day, he loves tractors and animals too so might look and see if i can find a farm set at a reasonable price, thanks all,:T theres so much outthere its overwhelming sometimes

    I heart christmas!

I promised myself that I would be even more organised this year than last! Put a little bit away each month as I always start buying/making presents early and this year will be no exception! Sainsburys do a half price sale on toys in october and I never have enough money to go shopping in the jan sales so very much looking forward to that for a change! Im going to do gift hampers for people, the OH is making wine(is not great tbh! :D) and I bake so I'll be on the lookout for pretty baskets at car boots this weekend. If I do presents for couples it wont be so costly!

In the kids stockings last year (7 and 9) I trawled every page on here looking for freebies and I found so much stuff. There was a certificate you could print off that had their name on it saying their name had gone to the moon on a robot-the OH laminated it, tied a bit of ribbon around it and the boys loved it! Even did a certificate for the cat! :D I've just signed up to a hot wheels site and the boys will get a keyring and stickers. I remember stockings back in my day being full of crafty, stationary, inexpensive toys and sweets...oh and of course the mandatory satsuma! So I want the boys to have the same. Sadly the eldest is my stepson and he doent appreciate anything like this as he has every latest gadget and games consol. (for this christmas he told me his mum was buying him an iPhone 4!) We had him last christmas in the morning and its fair to say he didnt get what he asked for; a signed bristol city top. So he went home and his mum had bought it for him instead! So any gift ideas for him would be greatly appreciated! Oh, did I forget to mention he was bought a Kinect AND xbox last week just for eating his fruit at school?!(...which he later then told me he didnt eat them, just threw them away! :D:D)
    £20k in 2023 = £2718 £2023 in 2023 = £196.41 Grocery challenge £250= £195.80 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**

there is a free engraved pen offer on the freebies board atm, mine came last week and they look sooo expensive! Put it away for my other halfs stocking. Try wilkinsons for stocking fillers too, in the craft aisle they have packs of crayons, 15p, packs of felt tips, 15p, sharpeners, novelty pens, rubbers etc for 32p each so really good value

i can def reccomend the vsmile motion. we bought it last year for my ds whos now four. both him and dd whos 3 love it (dd just started showing an intrest a few months ago) and theyre both coming on really well in recognising letters and are counting higher than before, i think its down to the console.

the games they have are cars, mickey mouse clubhouse, a racing game, scooby doo (a bit old tbh), thomas the tank, dora and tinkerbell. the dora in particular is a great game, keeps them occupied and lots of different learning methods.

Hello - a few have mentioned the vtech smile. My lo will be 2 at christmas, do you think it would be too old for her?
The review says 4 yrs plus and not suitable for under 3's?!

    Thank you
