Hi Guys
Stumbled across this thread by chance - but am now quite excited about getting ready for Xmas! Although better than last year, money will still be very tight for me and DH this year as we are chucking as much as possible at the debts.
I love the idea of *trying* to be creative and making a hamper for DH...he is a big fan of Formula One/Superbikes. Any ideas on little bits I could pick up over the next couple of months to make this as nice (and cheap!) as possible?
Thanks

i guess it depends on which direction you want to go Triangle
my OH is HUGE kid at heart so we got him a scalextrics (sp) and made him a checkered flag, we got him a t shirt (primark £2) and decorated it ourselves like an F1 top
(i do know someone who got one of those disposable paint overalls £2, and made it look like the jumpsuit as well)
we got him a trophy made, its was a fiver, just a small one, and you can get F1 baseball caps on ebay cheap
also F1 keyrings etc
i would imagine you can get dvds cheap as well,
formula 1 cufflinks?

I have today paid my last installment for my vouchers with Park Hampers. Now Christmas prep starts for me! Kids back to school next week - and already they have changed their minds on what they want for their main present!!!! lol.Donna

Loving this thread, I've been a lurker for a while. I got my girls main present in June, reduced in Argos and i had vouchers to cover it so why not, the shop assistant did think I was nuts!! Everything else just falls into place once the mains gifts are in I think. I save vouchers through my work so it makes Xmas so much more affordable, still like a bargain though xx0

Hmmm will be watching with interest.Had an unexpected change in financial circs, unexpectedly having to buy a new car asap plus a baby due around xmas so our usual mentally expensive xmas is out of the window!By now I'm usually half done at least but have literally done nothing..eeek!Got three kids aged 5,6 and 8,am the least arty/creative/cooky person I know so home made ideas are scary :rotfl:Now just got to figure out how to fund a bday party, car, baby, xmas in the next 4 months  A bit worried how the kids will react to a frugal xmas after the past few lavish ones but guess now is as good a time as any to get them used to it!Slightly mad mummy to four kidlets aged 4 months,6,7 and 8
:D:D xx

Kayandy i have just returned from drayton manor which has a thomas land with my 2 boys who are 4 and 16 months, they loved it. Bit of a journey for us from glasgow, but depending where you stay you could take him for a day out. used my tesco clubcard vouchers and converted them to theme park tickets. would highly recommend0
