Just looking on Aldi's website, they still do their 'Super 6' deal on fruit and veg. And it looks pretty good- 39p for a cucumber, when M's is offering 2 for £1.50.
I can see a trip up there next week, we get through so much fruit and veg it's unreal.0 -
I've recently sorted out a load of dvds that we no longer bother with and I'm going to hand them over to music magpie. OK so it's not mega bucks but it all helps.
Is it very odd that I can't wait to get the June bills out of the way already so I can get an overpayment made?
Not at all, I can never wait for payday just so that I can make another OP!
Remember to go through one of the cashback sites when you sell to music magpie, they don't pay much but it's free money and better in your pocket.Nov 2025 - part 1 - £13,878 part 2 - £20,953 Total - £34,832 24 months to go!0 -
Well today has been a relatively looooow spend day. Just got to grab some bread later and that's about it. DS1 is at a holiday club at the local sports centre but that was paid for weeks ago.
Am very excited/nervous as tomorrow I start my new hobby- burlesque! Again, I paid for the course a while back. A couple of my friends started to learn this last year and have been trying to persuade me ever since, and finally I gave in! It looks like it's going to be a lot of fun, gets me out of the house and it's something for me.
Am hoping tomorrow will be a no/low spend day also.0 -
Morning, vvv tired this morning. DS2 has been under the weather for a few days- runny nose, slight temp. Well this morning he woke at 5am  Tried to get him to sleep in with us but he was having none of it and demanding Cbeebies- Cbeebies doesn't start till 6- well 5.30 if you want to watch the same 5 min trailer over and over again for half an hour. Luckily we have a million episodes of 'Waybuloo' for just such an occasion so he was kept happy. It's going to be a loooong and whingy morning from him I think. Time to crack open the neurofen.
I'm doing a couple of moneysaving things today. Last week in a weak moment I bought a beauty product from Boots. Totally overpriced 'miracle' product that when you're feeling a bit old and saggy you fall for. but since then I've come to my senses and am taking it back. So not only will i hopefully get my money back but I'll be keeping the points!
And as part of my contact lens plan I'm entitled to a free pair per year. one of my lenses was giving me a bit of jip last week so i rang and ordered them. I've since realised i was wearing said lens inside out-doh! But I've got a spare pair of lenses for free so that's all good.
Then tonight it's my first burlesque class-eek!0 -
Well, I think I've found my new hobby, burlesque was fantastic!:D A heck of a lot more physically demanding than i thought, but great fun. Could potentially be expensive though, corsets, stockings, gloves, shoes, etc
Ah well, I'll just buy things bit by bit, shouldn't be too bad. The group do a lot of shows to raise money for charities so that kind of justifies it for me.
I'm aching like mad today, last night we worked really hard and my legs were aching from that. Then I've been and caned it at the gym this morning- will need a bath later!
DH has taken DS1 on a bike ride this morning which he loved- who says kids need lots of money spending on them to have fun, eh? DS2 is in nursery and I've come home and got 3 loads of washing done and out on the line, love not needing to use the tumble dryer.
NSD today, although i bet there's this months' nusery bill waiting for me when I pick up DS2.
I've also decided not to do an online shop this week and see how much i can get at Mr A's, then do a top up shop if needed at Morrisons. that has GOT to be cheaper than my usual online delivery from Sainsburys ( I know, lazy me!) followed by top up from morrisons.
Right, off to put kettle on and check on my washing line.0 -
Dammit, had to use the joint account debit card yeasterday after resolving not to! It was 'only' £10 or so but still annoying that I didn't take any cash out with me.
Ah well.
I'm in sooooo much pain this morning. Thurs night an hour of dance followed by an hour of cardio Fri morning and I think I've overdone it- my legs are in total agony. Am going to have a bath soon and rest as much as poss to repair the damage. Tough going, this getting fit business!0 -
Glad you enjoyed the burlesque, sounds quite demanding too. I think your muscles want a rest over the weekend!Nov 2025 - part 1 - £13,878 part 2 - £20,953 Total - £34,832 24 months to go!0

Got back into the Aldi habit today and was very pleased with the prices! I did spend quite a bit but this was one of those weeks where we had run out of a lot of things and I also really filled my boots and shouldn't need to do a top up shop later on this week at all :j
My Music Magpie stuff came today so I can get my dvds sent off and get the cash.
Just chilling at the moment while DS2 is asleep, then we're off to the park with friends when we've picked DS1 up. We were going to go to softplay but this is a whole lot cheaper.
I'm finding it really interesting, how quickly and easily my mindset has changed and I'm constantly thinking how i can do things cheaper, better, etc- I'm in a moneysaving state of mind

I went to Aldi yesterday and it occurred to me for the first time that I should go there for top up shops. I spent 99p on an identical loaf to that I paid £1.52 for a few days earlier. It is near our Mr S but always go there out of habit. These habits are costly though :rotfl:Nov 2025 - part 1 - £13,878 part 2 - £20,953 Total - £34,832 24 months to go!0
