BTW the ip address and subnet info are there but it is blank after the default gateway

If it's 169.254.xx.xx or 192.168.xx.xx it's OK to post as these are internal network IP addresses and not your public IP address.

Well, after noticing the the default gateway was blank I phoned sky and the guy gave me some umbers to input..hence it works..phew.

Did you run malwarebytes? Simply running a 'system restore' does not in any way guarantee its free of issues
