Buying versus renting, simple decision in my case. 5 dogs:rotfl:

Can't imagine why it would be difficult to rent:p

Heres an idea...if you want to buy a house then buy one, if you want to rent then rent! simples!

Well it's not really as simple as that though is it, I'd actually prefer it if we had a well regulated and affordable rental sector to rent in, as there are many advantages and less responsibilities when you are renting. So I'd like to rent, but am having to buy due to the state of the rental market.

On the other hand as we know, there are many who want to buy, but have to rent.

    20) Never have to worry about what colour your house will be painted, it's always going to be Magnolia.
    Haha :D

I think the tread can be summed up by saying horses for courses.

There are arguments both ways in the buying/renting debate. Depending on your personal circumstances different weighting will be applied to the arguments.

For example a young single person who has just moved to an area and started a new job isn't likely to value staying in one place too highly. They are more likely to want the flexibility to move around at short notice. But compare that to a couple in their 30s who have got 1 kid and another on the way, they are going to value stability in where they live a lot higher.
