Selling car on eBay - bids at last minute?

Yep they'll bid last minute due to daftyness.
Essentially, as a buyer you should know what you want to pay so stick that in and see what happens. Ebay bids to your max anyway, no matter if people pile in at the last minute or not.
All bidding late stops is those who think "well, just another 50 notes" and bump the price up while the auction is in play but if they put in an offer at the end that is more than you want to pay it has not made a jot of difference.

In my experience of selling on eBay most bids appear with seconds to go. As long as you have plenty of watchers you'll probably be ok.0

You should set a reserve or starting price at the minimum you would be willing to accept (be realistic).
I usually use the Bid-O-Matic sniper tool which puts my bid in in the final few seconds of the auction. This allows me to put in the maximum I am willing to pay. It stops me from catching auction fever and stops other people from catching the fever with my bid.
I bought a motorbike a few weeks ago like this -- the price was only £10 less than my maximum.0
