I'd be surprised at that - they've been under before and come back - the website is still trading and no admin message on it - sounds a bit odd if you ask me...0
-
According to the post here they've been sold to PC Peripherals...

that explains why the website's still up, sold same day as a going concern (literally)...0

Wrong. If you have no idea what you are talking about please don't bother posting.
Any bad advice is coming from you I am afraid to say !!!
It is foolish in the extreme to pay for anything on a debit card when you could pay on a credit card.
1. You get Sect 75 cover on a credit card.
2. "Chargeback" on a debit card is NOT a legal requirement, the card company/bank can withdraw the whole thing or refuse to action any individual complaint and the cardholder has absolutely NO recourse.
3. Charge back only covers what you actually spent on the card, it does not rectify any subsequent loss due to "Breach of Contract".
4. Any fraudulent activity on a credit card is not the cardholder's problem. It is the bank's money that has been "done away with".
You should get the money back from debit card fraud - eventually, but in the mean time with the fraudster having emptied your current account your mortgage, electricity, Council Tax, etc, etc have all "bounced".0 -

I was under the impression that S75 only kicked in for purchases over £100?
Whilst I agree with the logic of the argument, there are times when I would and do use a Debit Card in preference to a Credit Card.
I make some low value purchases on Debit Card to avoid the charges made to some Credit Card payments.
I also use a Debit Card when the transaction would be classed as "Cash Advance" to again avoid Credit Card Fees.
However, it is all done with complete understanding of the type of transaction and the risks involved either way.“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -

Mesh is in Administration
To quote the article...Probably it was the rise of the laptop industry, rather than anything else that resulted in this untimely death for Mesh Computers...
...or perhaps it was due to their appaling customer service that saw a decline in sales from the general public?“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -

That is the secret !
Pay the deposit on your credit card and pay the rest by cheque - doesn't matter if you pay 1p on your card - as long as the total transaction is over £100, you are covered.
If it is going to count as a "cash transaction" - go to an ATM and get cash.
The risk of having your card cloned/misused is the same on debit or credit card - so why risk the contents of your bank account unnecessarily ?0 -

Not always possible.
What I mean is things like, for example, loading a Pre-paid Master card for use on holiday. Do this from a Credit Card and there will be fees involved.
Other examples include using Western Union (Not that I do very often due to the enormous risks involved, but very, very occasionally it is the simplest solution to a problem).
All have their own risks/advantages/etc...
It has to be an informed decision - as we all agree.“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -

Completely correct; I didn't say that you shouldn't purchase things on a credit card as they clearly have a lot more protection. What I infered was that you do still have some rights when paying with a debit card and the posters original reply of "you can do nothing" is infact wrong. If my post helped you in anyway, please hit the "Thanks" button! Please note any advice I give is followed at your own risk!0
