Whilst they may use HSBC as their clearing bank, HSBC don't have anything to do with running your account.

I'm with Handelsbanken and they are very good.

Email the branch and they email you back very quickly. All decisions are made in branch.

The only problem is the internet banking service is a little dated - I'm an Apple Mac user and the log in will only work on Firefox and no chance of checking my account on a Mac or iPad in the UK.

The Swedes (Handelsbanken is Swedish) have an Iphone and iPad app but it dont work in the UK!

    Any more questions, do ask!

    Hi Jinkster,

Which branch are you with? Are there any minimum funding/salary requirements? Did you have to attend the branch to open the account? How long did it take to confirm that your account was open? And finally: what are their savings rates like?

    Many Thanks!

    Sort code is 60-95-34

My branch is Huddersfield. Saving rates are very poor 1% or something similar - basically when I asked them about this they said 'We are not desperate for people's money unlike some high street banks offering £100 to join etc!'

No eligibility criteria but as before it all depends on the branch, i'm not charged anything for using the account but could again vary between branches.

Card is boring but all the cards came with a Norwegian post mark and I think the card is off a mountain in Norway!

They also offer a Visa charge card, but I never use it.

    Any more questions?

3: does it matter what a card looks like? (did i say it does?) no i did not, im just curious. (only human after all) :)

It's my opinion that you're sarcastic, thats how your posts come across to me. Why would you ask someone if they're scared to tell you their sort code number ?

Someone posts an amusing comment about what the card will look like and you accuse them of being immature and acting like an a s s ? Then you call them a sarcastic bast@rd !
    Very polite of you.

If you're curious as to what a debit card looks like then you're the immature one. (just my opinion obviously)

Well i know what a debit card looks like (thanks for letting me know tho) i was really on about the design.

and i will accuse a member here of being immature i just simply asked what the handelsbanken debit card looks like.. (in terms of design) and was simply waiting for a reply about that.

and what you on about ? 'scared' ? you need to 'lighten up' i was simply asking for the branch sort code and the fact that i said 'scared' was just a joke.... and i have nothing against him.

And how does it make me immature if Im curious to know what the handelsbanken debit card looks like? well go on explain?....

serious in my opinion you really need to 'lighten up' and relax.
