    Hello All

Done a lot of shopping in this the first week of my month. I seem to have been in every one of the big supermarkets and spent over half my budget:eek: I am well stocked up on household stuff like loo roll, kitchen towel and dog food, baking stuff, frozen veg etc. as well as nappies and wipes. I will need to get some more stuff to make meals with and fresh stuff.

We are all away this weekend, me and DS to my Mum's and DH is away with the boys, so no food to be bought or cooked:D We will need milk this week and I will need ham and fruit next week for lunches but as I am hoping to make all main meals for the rest of this week and next Monday to Thursday out of the stuff in the cupboards and freezer my spends should be low.

If we are careful I could come in under budget. Fingers crossed.

£8.20 to add to my total which I am now going to declare at £62.94. Can you put me down for £100 for July please.

This has got to be my best month ever :D
  • Well the bad news is that I popped into mr t's on the way back from dropping my dd off at her evening job intending to get some salad stuff and bacon and ended up spending £31. However the good news was that that was because for the first time I hit the fabled Whoopsies Hour and there was stuff there I will actually use. 3 x lamb mince and ditto pork mince and a couple of pork ribs. I had to do some serious freezer Tetris to fit the mince in as I've just frozen 9 portions of lamb casserole - I was forced to eat a small tub of ice cream<g> and decided to throw away a portion of frozen pasta bake that was very very old. The pork ribs we'll have tomorrow.
That puts me up to my maximum, well over what I was aiming for but with a lot of meals stashed away. I'm really pleased just to have kept it all under control and know where I am, anyway.

    Right then

Declaring at £183 for June after spent £8 yesterday on some fruit and milk and other stuff

Today is the start of July GC and I decided to do a big shop today as I don't have much in the freezer etc. Grabbed some reduced fish at Mr T - a huge whole filleted salmon for £13 - cut into 8 big pieces, huge piece of cod loin into 6 pieces for £8, 2 mackeral for £2 filleted into 4 portions and a seabass

Then after work went to Mr S for my other stuff and succumbed to reduced meat items - chicken, lamb, beef and steak.
    Leg of lamb
    chicken thighs
    chicken thighs and drumsticks
    braising beef
    stewing lamb
    rib eye steak

Then onto some frozen fish items, veg and household things etc

So spent about £100 in total out of July's budget. Not too concerned as have plenty in the freezer now to keep me going for the next month or so

    July GC BUDGET £150
final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333

Can anyone tell me how they work our how much percentage of the month has gone and then how much percentage of the budget has gone...think thats a good way to look at things and my brain has gone to mush today!

For percentage of month gone, do:

days of month gone so far, divided by days in whole of month, times 100.

    eg today is 28th, so I would do 28 / 30, x 100 = 93%

    For % of budget, it's:
amount spent so far, divided by budget total, times 100,

    eg 86.45 / 150, x 100 = 58%

Hi to work out how much % of the month has gone divide the date by the number of the days in that month and then multiply that by 100 eg:- 28/30 x 100 = 93.33

To work out % of budget gone divide the amount spent by the total budget and then multiply by 100.
