toddles, did you say you could freeze milk? That would be excellent for me as whenever we run out of milk and I pop over to the little shop, I end up buying something extra. OH is worse - send him over for milk and he returns with a bag of sweets!

I always keep a few pints in the freezer. Never caused any problems. Mine is Skimmed or S/S. Never tried it with FF though.

My first online shop of the month came to £34.56 which was more than I was planning on spending, but I wanted to stock up on some money off and multi-buy offers. I've been meal planning, so hopefully I won't run out of anything and won't be tempted to go for little shops :)

  • hi everyone, another month, another gc to battle against lol

was under last month, and was going to stick to £215 for June, but have decided to try

    £200 for June Please

Have decided to lower it a bit as we will be away for 5 days, will include groceries i buy while away, but will be eating out alot(not included in gc budget) so it won't be as much as a usual week

Also DD is fully 'toilet trained' lol and has now dropped her daytime nap, for which she would wear a nappy, so that's 30 less nappies to be used in june, shocking:eek:!!!!DD ans DS still wear a nappy each for bed, will be working on DS being dry at night sometime soon:D

Already spent a bit of junes budget stocking up, got a few bits in m'sons today spent £19.40, will pop in again over the weekend as i forgot pesto:mad:must be good and only buy what i go in for!!!!spent £3.99 in s*vers on washing gel for the WM that i forgot to add!!

Going to check out the market saturday morning for fruit and veg, surely better than the supermarket;)

Good luck everyone in your own GC's and thank you for your posts, this thread definately helps to keep me on track, i know full well that my grocery spends could be a lot lot higher!!!

I have SS milk also and there is no difference in taste when you freeze it IMO. I can buy now 12-16 pints at the supermarket rather than just 4-6. Also you can make the most of the big 4 supermarket deals. I think its 2 for £2 isnt it?
    Happy days

    Hi

I 've asked for £220.00 for this month and have already spent £62.68, £45.77 on a T**co delivery and £16.91 in L**l. I haven't got any chicken, sausages mince or fish yet but am hoping to find a 3 for £10 in either Sai**burys or M&S. I got the pack of 20 M&S sausages recently and my family loved them (I don't eat them). The mince is good value in there too - I usually buy 2 packs (£4 if on offer) and make a large batch of savoury mince bulked up with lentils and lots of veg in my slow cooker. I freeze this in portions and make it into shepherds pie, bolognaise, lasagne and chilli by adding different spices/beans. This lasts the month and makes lots of meals so it works out really well.

Anyway enough rambling, have a nice evening everyone.
