Great House, bad area

Your Uncle seems to have a good head on him, I would be tempted to spend a lot of time in the next few days out in that area. Possibly sit in the car for a while and see what happens?
Most 'bad area's' have a concentrated bad spot. I will admit where we live there are 3 or 4 streets I would REFUSE to live in due to the trouble etc there! These streets are literally a 5 minute walk from our place! Lol. We are in the quiet end and so have never had trouble. The worst that happened to us was a few doors down got caught with 10k worth of drugs in their garage (proper nice family as well, you'd never have thought it!! lol) but I guess you can get that anywhere!
Seriously though, area's like this can lead to bargains! Our current house is valued about 115 - 120k, if it was in my parents area (for example, a very nice part apparently of plymouth) it would be 170! (so not worth it, but people want the postcode!). Go and check it out as much as you can

problem with kids can be anywhere really even 'good' areas. I would be asking myself what the neighbours are like? decent people? is the issues just kids or it the area more like 'the scheme'??MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

Does the fact that you (and presumably your family as your uncle is going to accompany you) are not comfortable to go there alone at night not tell you all that you need to know?
I wouldn't want to live in an area where I felt unsafe to be at night. If you feel my comments are helpful then I'd love it if you 'Thanked' me!

He doesn't feel unsafe, and it's just I don't know the area and want to get a feel for it at various times of the day. It can be completely different on a Tuesday afternoon to a Thursday night etc. Just like to know how things are really.0

I would also say dont sacrifice location for a well kept house....you will regret it.
definitely go down there 2-3 times at night, at least, weekend and midweek and see what it is like.
That said, i have an old colleague (I used to work in glasgow for years) who has lived there all the time I have known her -15yrs+ - although I dont know how close she is to this street - it's been a while since I was up0 -
Good idea to spend as much time in the area as possible. Also, what are the houses like in the rest of the street? Well kept? Tidy gardens? If you see any potential neighbours out and about, say hello and ask about what it is like to live around there.weight loss target 23lbs/49lb0

Aw, I think it looks quite reasonable, tidy house and garden. And the area looks quiet to be honest. (I'm a bit biased as I live within a few feet of a motorway though!)0
