Cat keeps being sick!

Options
Hi everyone,

I wonder if someone can help with regards to a problem I have with my cat.
She is 13 years old and for the last week or two has been being sick on a daily basis (usually just after she has eaten her biscuits).
I have not changed her food, she has always had Whiskas. She has biscuits to graze on throughout the day and some meat for dinner. She always seems to be sick after eating the biscuits, and they dont seem to have been digested as they come back up full (sorry if TMI!).

I have seen some of these biscuits in pet shops that are especially for sensitive stomachs, do you think it is worth me trying her on these? Or should I just take her straight to the vets?

She seems to be ok otherwise, still playful etc... but it is quite distressing to see her gagging to be sick :(

Thank you in advance for any advice!

Take her to the vets - it might be serious eg something she's eaten has caused an obstruction.

A friend had similar symptoms with her cat and the vet first thought it was a hairball but turned out the silly puss had eaten some plastic.

Yes - definitely take her to the vet. There may be an obstruction in her gut / bowel or an allergy or a whole range of other things but only your vet can help to work it out.

My cat has always thrown up on a regular basis, and she has been checked out by the vets and found to be fine - there is no apparent explanation for it. However, if it is a new thing with yours, then it is worth getting her checked to make sure there is nothing wrong with her.

:rotfl:It doesnt smell any worse than normal, but I have noticed there is sometimes a bit of grass in the sick so she is obviously eating it when she goes outside!

Thank you for the advice. As I thought to take her straight to the vets but OH seems to think we should just change her food.
I will ring the vets on Tuesday morning when they open and get her booked in, hate to think that she might be suffering :(

One of my house cats is frequently sick after meals on my cream carpet . We had her checked and the vet said she was eating too quickly prob because she is on a diet.

Glad you are getting her checked out and hope it is nothing major and she feels better soon.

    Hi everyone,

Just a quick update! Took cat to vets and he couldnt find anything wrong with her, said she seems very healthy etc... He did say that it could be her becoming a bit more sensitive to certain foods as she gets older so to try her on the foods which are specifically for 'senior' cats.

Obviously I was worried she may have a blockage or something serious like that but he said no she hasnt so thats a relief!

Will keep a close eye on her for the next few weeks and see how she gets on, fingers crossed we will see an improvement. Thank you for all the advice - will keep you updated!
