Afternoon all
I had a lovely afternoon with my friend yesterday - we sat outside in her lovely countryside garden drinking coffee and eating scones with jam and cream, mmm lovelyWe spent most of the afternoon talking about de-cluttering, cleaning and re-vamping our houses, lol! She has lent me a book called A Modern Girl's Guide to Getting Organised - this is seriously starting to become my new hobby, lol!
I have just been able to get myself a dining table and benches from freecycle - whoo-hoo! So my focus is going to continue with the kitchen with a bit of general tidyingHave also put flowers on my newly de-cluttered kitchen window sill as well as in my living room and bathroom
Here's my list for this afternoon/evening
Brush carpet up with rubber broom and hoover
Finish dishes
Put DS2's bedding in wash
Hoover DS2's mattress
Sort 6 boxes and bags of books for Freecycle (DH de-cluttered table for me this morning so I now have space - yay)
Sort rubbish in pantry
Right that's enough for now - will report back later
Love and hugs,
Jenny x

It's ridiculous. Neither I nor the neighbour are married so no issue there - but he is just !!!!!! stirring to deflect attention away from his own un-neighbourly behaviour.
Last time I ask the bloke-across-the-road for help though, now, because of what A (the bloke with the lorry) thinks. The bloke-across-the-road (let's call himkindly took me to pick my car up when the radiator leaked and I had to drop it in the garage. Also B is retired, in all day and keeps an active eye on ALL our houses - like having our very own neighbourhood watch.

Well my HHC was super productive.
I could cry with joy, daft as it sounds. I went to pump air in my ever deflating tyre on my van...its been so unreliable I haven't dared take it anywhere, really spoiled things for me, it was supposed to be a camper/come allsorts van.
Anyway, as I was taking it to the garage to pump the tyre up, hubby said, its the valve thats split, shouldn't cost very much to replace.
So I hottailed it to the garage, pumped it up, then drove to the Tyre place and they replaced the valve and pumped all the tyres up to correct psi.
Cost £5.00.
My hubby fixed the dodgy ignition the other week and that cost a tenner from the scrappers....so I now have a fairly reliable van...trouble is MOT runs out next week....but another froggy disgested.
Its full of car boot stuff for tomorrow.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

I see a chiropractor for my back problem. She recommends ice packs for "mechanical" problems. I can def recommend them. Ibruprofen and paracetamol just didn't touch it, which is all my GP would offer me. Ice packs, however, relieve the pain at least whilst they are on which gives some relief. Hope this helps.kazmeister wrote: »Back from the doctors - DD has had a painful tailbone for over a month now, he has recommended ibuprofen 3x a day and to go back in a month. I guess there's not much he can do but as it has gone on for a while I did think he might have recommended an xray.0

BIG frog suitably chomped - Mr LW and I spent an hour out in the back garden, and we've done loads out there; I've had a major blitz on the Creeping Jenny that's invading from next door.... I will eliminate the damned stuff, if it kills me!:D
We decided to stop when we did because I was starting to feel really dizzy with fatigue (I hate lupus!) but if it's nice tomorrow, we'll see what else we can get done out there.:o
Get well soon Maxonian; I Googled quinsy, and tbh, wished I hadn't!:o
Hope you're not climbing the walls with having to rest Greenbee.
Last but by no means least, lots of posi-vibes for little Meggie. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
OMG Has Maxonian got Quinsy - I had that once it was DREADFUL - I couldn't swallow anything and the meds I got from the doc knocked me out then gave me a 'hangover' til the next batch.
One the plus side it didn't last long.
Had to get exOH home from work (was a Sat) to see to the kids as I was incapable.
Soothing throat vibes for you - also Meggie's inmy thoughts.
Yeah Crafty - you're right. By me there a a few of us on our own so we do look out for each other. Some of my neightbours (well all bar truckman, actually) are lovely. NDN joined on mowed my lawn for me this morning - he does both together. NDN's on the other side are like family...
One of the reasons why I wouldn't shift from here when we split up. I LOVE where I live.
have listed two pictures I found in the upstairs landing cupboard on e bay. Something the first Mr Valli brought home from Oxfam about 25 years ago. Fingers crossed they sell - I want those Denby pots for my new kitchen
(They're cheaper direct or from Debenhams)
