Morning everyone, love, hugs and spoons to those that need em :)

im up since silly o'clock so have played my facebook games and am going to have a HHC now, OH has already gone round the new house to wait for the electric man and the furniture so need to get this house tidy as he is working really hard on the house. Also going to take more kitchen stuff round the house later on so that as much as possible is out of here. Might even take the wine rack as well, although im not sure where that is going to go as i dont want it in the living room in the new house as thats where it is now. think the understairs cupboard will be the best place for it.

    ok here i go......

  • Good morning, all.

Rather shocked to have been awake before 4.30am, but dozed off briefly to wake up with a start at ten to 6. Gave up, got up, woke the splats up [Bwah-ha-ha-ha: Revenge! :D] and chucked crunchies at them and went back to bed. Just dozing off again to wake up as the Ginger Ninja found the ONE bit of gibble under my bed - a red plastic bottle top (milkshake lid?) - and started playing ice hockey with it.

    So I'm downstairs with the sunshine streaming in through the windows, Minion is staying another day at KH's (she asked, so they must be spoiling her this time :) - and she knows she has a bedroom to do when she gets back), thinking the following;

    My house looks lovely!

    :D:D:D

So anyone just starting out flying, stay positive, as it will eventually get the same way - when you realise just how much of a weight is lifted from you, you will be amazed.

    And very, very :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

On an aside, the oven (which had gone BANG again) was checked, and the person doing it decided to check the entire installation from consumer unit onwards. The wall switch had a loose neutral, the outlet behind the oven wasn't secured in the drywall, so was flapping around behind the backplate, the earth wire wasn't screwed down to the terminal and, by using cheap lighting cabling, the plastic sheathing had melted again, exposing bare copper against the oven housing and the whole thing was shorting out and only just earthing itself rather than making the entire oven live. None of this was visible as the builders had gone to great lengths to conceal all of it. The cure? 125cm of the correct cabling and someone who actually knew what they were doing for half an hour. Now I have a fully working - and safe - oven.

Hmmmmmm, what to have for breakfast..... :)

Morning all, wm already on and will be for the rest of today. Boys need to be woken yet, school run and then garden needs done. :D

Toots thanks hon, we're all over the moon and yeah to no more bullying.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

SharonR - as you have asked the question - I shall offload my WM cleaning ordeal from today. I first cleaned the powder drawer - and found a little button at the back which let me take the drawer out and soak it in the sink. I then cleaned it with an old toothbrush and a microfibre cloth and washing up liquid. Then I wiped the cloth and scrubbed the toothbrush inside all the door seals and all their deep and manky crevices. Then I investigated the filter. Having found my instruction manual I emptied the pump with the long tube that pulls out of the machine, then needed pliers to undo the filter. At that point I soaked about 10 tea towels with manky smelly water. Inside the filter was about £2.73, a strange piece of webbing strap (???) and lots of black unpleasantness. All went in the soapy water for a scrub with a toothbrush. Yuck. Then I reassembled and ran the machine on a 95 degree wash with prewash with white vinegar in the drawer - 1/4 cup in prewash and main detergent drawer, and a good sprinkling of bicarb in the drum. I'm hoping this will rid me of stagnation now.

    Have fun!

lol! Sounds like fab fun, but probably quite satisfying now you know you've got a sparkly clean washing machine which isn't spreading black manky gunge over your clothes.

I'd best check where the the filter is, my machine is 5 years old. It's going to be horrific! Still, a couple of quid won't go amiss! :)

    Morning all :)

I'm mega late in this week :)
So thanks for the thread ladies :T TEN pages already??? No chance to catch up so hope everyone is fab-u-locious :D

I'm achey so the whole thing is a frog list today :rotfl:
Did 10 miles on a mountain bike over the ridgeway on saturday, fell off... when standing still! (d'oh!) went over rocks, through ridges, over logs - wobbly but okay :) Next time DH says we should do that... well I'll have to think twice :rotfl:
I have thighs that look like a dalmation - all spotted with bruises!
Then yesterday I ran and went horsey riding. Looks like I've not had a good sleep either.
My little body is heavy and aching and I wanna just snooooze

Right then I'm on catch up. Kitchen for me first .... urghhhh.
I have dropped off DH at the station, picked up the poop minefield, fed chooks and done the collect the dishes dance.

I'm procrastinating.. avoidance tactics. Okay, need to get butt in gear!!!

Hugs, sticks and spoons as needed :D
