No. I'm a former mechanic and used to do motorsport and as such, I don't believe in cutting corners and scrimping on one of the four things that stop you from piling into something at silly speeds, the other three being tyres and suspension (yes they BOTH have an effect on stopping distance) and steering.
So what is the fourth thing ?0 -

Vauxhall branded parts in a Vauxhall box are also expensive to buy.
Dealer prices are actually reasonable for Vauxhall, compared to most dealer prices.
I have a trade account with them, then they work out cheaper than copy parts.I wouldn't put redstuff pads on a road car in all honesty.
Personally never heard any complaints about Greenstuff pads, used them for years even doing 70/80k per year when a courier.
I have never used the grooved or drilled discs thouh, a bit overkill for road use and noisy.
Money no object i would go for Tarox, but for the money i find EBC to be good value, haven't had mintex fitted for years, more due to supply issues than choice, but after using EBC pads i have stuck with them.
I reckon more people have brake issues due to not changing their brake fluid regularly than any problem with the pad quality.
Think you may be on your own here.
Supply of Mintex is still good as well.0 -
dont go to them for a maf or an egr though mikey72 because even with the trade card their prices are enough to settle the national debt
oil cheap mind and they dont do bogoff its three off0 -

£100 for the airflow meter, £80 for the egr for mine from them.
20% more retail.
Exhaust was cheaper than buyparts.0 -
My mechanic usually just puts on budget stuff like Blueprint. Can't say I've noticed any issue with them.0

Its not just the quality of the braking material. Cheap ones are also built to lower tolerances making them have issues wgen fitted into the caliper.
I had a polo where the pads were a little too big and did not return fully (even after cleaning the caliper). They lasted barely a year.
Destroying your fuel bill in the process?0 -

Depends where you buy, the places i use all stock EBC on the shelf but need to order mintex, i am not going to spend time looking for or ordering mintex when i can get EBC off the shelf.
My choice is EBC yours isn't nothing wrong with either opinion, we are just of different viewpoints, nothing wrong with Mintex, but Greenstuff is my choice, Redstuff to track orientated for me though.0 -
Nothing wrong with Blueprint, wasn't aware they were a budget part, lots of Jap parts are Blueprint, seemed decent enough .0

You may be right, they were just presented to me as the "budget" option and to be fair there were always cheaper products available but he suggested I didn't bother with those.0
