Well it's red and a laptop.
Is it any good is subjective. Without knowing what you want it for its hard to say.
As a general laptop to use around the home, seems OK, 2.5kg would get a bit heavy if you carry it around a lot, but then if you want lightweight the prince will go up.
Processor is not the latest but then again OK at this price point.
Integrated graphics would be OK for most things but not for games, but again it's a chep laptop.
Only suggestion I'd really make is to fo into PCworld / Comet or even argod and try the keyboard, many low prioce laopts have "squidgy" keyboards, and that are not great for a lot of typing on , buit agian depends on what you use it for.0 -
Also what is your budget? I'm sure there will be a flood of recommendations soon.
Personally I don't like Samsung products in general.0 -
bare minimum of Ram for Windows 7 , would like at least 3 or 4 gb
hardly any bundled software , microsoft works is as much use as a chocolate teapotEx forum ambassador

it's okay/ I don't really like the Samsungs / it is quite a 'weak' processor too -- relatively speaking //BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

is this one any better? when it comes to the tech side im rubbish lol:TIf your happy and you know it clap your hands :T0 -
If you realy want to go to Argos for the credit and have a price point to hit this is as good as any. There are machines that are arguably better for more money but in your price range, but as your not needing to do anything demanding this would be as good as any.
However if you want to do uni work, you probably need a reasonable keyboard but if the one it has is ho hum you can always buy an external one.0 -

Again define better, bit faster processor, bit bigger hard drive and more memory but £40 more.
You'll hardly notice the difference between the two laptops you suggested unless you buy both and use them side by side, and both would be better than yours.
Question is do you want to spend the £40 more, I'd doubt you'll see enough of a benefit to make any odds in your situation0 -
at the moment this is the one i have and ive had it for around 4 years so any improvement on this is good for me

Unless it's physically broken and if you have the restore disks you could try doing a factory retore to remove all the junk window builds up over time. Won't make it the latest and greatest but will make it faster.
You will of course lose everything on it.0
