Despite several phonecalls to them advising that the occupier (82) had died April 2010, house for sale, and house empty, no idea when it would be sold (wish i did) no TV's since May 2010 in property. In fact nothing at all in property. We are still being bombarded with letters which have got nastier and nastier, the latest arrived today (collected by brother when he called to check property secure etc), which is now refering to court proceedings..........I haven't seen the actual letter yet.
When i have called them, I have been told it would be noted, and that this was the usual procedure and to IGNORE, no action needed! I ignored that little gem and have kept on informing them.
When you go on the tvlicensing web its a merry go round and takes you back to where you started.....needing to ring them again, which once again is merry go round of press this that and the other only to be put on hold or cut off before actually speaking to anyone.
Can anyone suggest something that will actually make them take note and stop these unecessary letters, it is just one more added worry for me, any help would be really appreciated
Plus of course the letter arrives on a bank holiday weekend and so I'll be worrying about this till tuesday now

You have absolutely nothing to worry about.
Do as they say and ignore the letters.
You cannot possibly get into any kind of trouble if there is no TV there.
Unfortunately stopping spurious letters is more problematic, but, still, don't worry. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

Oh Crapita, they do seem to get everywhere don't they!0

Chuck them all in the bin !0

Thank you for your very quick replies, but I'm a worrier, the sort that the letters are aimed at, but this is just another thing to bother about (the estate agent being even more useless - takes viewers then says can't open door! twice....despite already taking someone round in january)
I just feel that I should be doing something0 -
What can we say that will stop you worrying? There's nobody living there an offence is only committed if someone is watching TV there. There's nobody there to do that! If they want to waste their money, let them. You've tried to help them, unfortunately they're beyond help. Just recycle all the letters.0

Thank you i know you are all talking perfect sense
There is no occupier, empty house all of which they have already been informed.
I know that no offence has been or is being committed but when letters say such things as 'We have therefore authorised Enforcement Officers to visit your home' and the latest according to my brother refers to 'entering property', I worry.
As, the threatened Enforcement Officers have yet to call, no way of knowing if anyone has, could they/would they actually force an entry on an obviously empty/unoccupied/for sale house?
Sorry, just curious now, calming down........honest :rotfl:0 -

Yes, all this junk mail keeps arriving... about once a month.
As others have said... ingore them.
They have no right to enter the property.
If you want to read a saga about the tv licensing people then click here.
This guy has received fifty four letters to date.
You should be able to workout what your next letter will be.0
