if you are on income support or any other means tested benefit then your entitled to free dental treatment, not sure if you can claim things back though

Afraid disabilty doesn't mean free prescriptions or dental treatment unless you qualify on income grounds.

It totally depends on household income,
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

you are on income based esa you are entitled to free health benefits prescriptions travel for hospital treatment and nhs dental treatment if you have paid for treatment then you can claim this back from the Dwp

  • You can get a HC1 application form from dentist / optician / doctor / dss etc, fill one out and if its possible you will get what you need.

The op does not need form hc1 as they are on esa income based so automaticly entitled if they do fill this in they will just get a letter stateing this

Surely you can only claim it back if you paid for it whilst on ESA or other entitlement benefits? If the work was done before going on benefits then it cant be claimed back.

I am on DLA and ESA, and only get free prescriptions, nothing else, even though I am in a wheelchair and cannot work. My husband works, so his income counts towards our household income. Worth looking out for free or half price eye test vouchers or shopping around for a cheap dentist.

You obviously have completed the form to get free prescriptions on the grounds of being unable to leave the house without assistance of another person. Its not based on income purely on your inability to leave the house on your own.

I think a lot of disabled people don't know they can do this, so miss out, which is a shame. The certificate lasts 5 years too and is easy to get if you are wheelchair bound.

    xx
