Don't hold me to this, but I'd say that unless you can prove you have purchased it from tesco thn you are screwed for getting them to acknowledge their obligation to the customer (which is fair enough at the end of the day).
If you can't find the receipt, I'd say contact the manufacturer as they will know where & when it was sold.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -

I wont hold you to it but it is rubbish because only Tesco sell the Technica brand. You need to ring CS again and report what the manager told you.0 -
The manager needs retraining. You don't need a receipt, you need proof of purchase. A bank or credit card statement should suffice. If you bought it for cash, then you're stuffed.
Actually, you should be grateful it's expired while still under warranty, most Technika's seem to die at 13 months. If you are offered your money back instead of a replacement, take it and buy a proper brand. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Interesting, where does this 13 month figure come from? Do you have a reference or is it just an unsubstantiated slur?
Probably based on bitter experience
Technika as others have stated is Tescos own brand so can't have been bought anywhere else it is simply a case of proving when and with modern technology Tesco would be able to track down the purchase. It is a TV it has a serial number they can track it it also needs them to submit a form to the TV Licence bods detailing what you bought and when they are just being lazy and not wanting to help their customer.
I have never been happy with any technika product I have bought so now avoid like the plague although I have always found the Tesco customer service people who deal with me to be very helpful, are you listening Mr Sainsbury and Mrs ASDA!I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -
The manufacter would only know when and where it was sold if the OP had filled in and sent off the warranty card when they purchased it.
Without any proof of purchase ( reciept or credit/debit card print out from bank ) then how are Tesco to know that the OP hasn't bought it secondhand.
As marvin says , a bit of tracking down via tv licence people may help unless it was bought for cash with a false address to avoid getting caught without a licence.
It should be possible to find some proof of purchase .
The reference to the tv's breaking down at 13th month is just a generalism. I used to repair tv's and it was surprising how often the cheaper makes would break down in months 13/14/15/16. You get what you pay for and these own brand tv's are usually built down to a very tight budget and personally I wouldn't touch them - but you can be lucky and occassionally get one that lasts.0 -

Completely unsubtantiated of course, maybe I should have said 'shortly after the warranty expires'. However plenty of reports on here of Technika's expiring during their second year. Tesco do seem to recognise this and have often replaced them, despite being out of warranty.
Parts never seem to be obtainable, as they are just rebadged job-lots.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
