Help going onto wireless broadband

Hi

I am due to go onto wireless broadband on 13th june!!! I am so confused, could any one please advise me as to how i switch on wireless on my desktop pc. I have found the switch on my laptop but dont know where to look on my desktop pc!!! Its 3 years old if that helps!!! Would be grateful for any help!!!

    It's odds on that your desktop doesn't have a wireless card/dongle fitted, so you'll have to buy one if you want to connect wirelessly.

    If that is the case. I would recommend the Belkin wireless adapter. I use this adapter for my PC which doesnt have built in wireless. I don't find any noticable difference in speed when using my laptop (with built in wireless) or my PC with the wireless adapter.

    Another thumbs up for Belkin adapter here (USB), easy set up, good speed and stable connection too :)

    Is there any reason why you want to connect your PC wirelessly?

    The usual method is to connect it to your router with an ethernet cable.

    Chances are that you new router will be supplied with the appropriate cable.
    That gum you like is coming back in style.

    Agreed. Pointless to connect your desktop PC wirelessly if it is anywhere near the router. Ethernet will do the job faster, more securely and with more reliability. Save wireless for the laptop.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
