EasyJet card transaction fee...

just booked a flight with easy jet for a job interview, so fairly short notice and very quick visit. £50 return, no complaints there!

however £8 fee for using a Visa Debit card?!! used to be £4!!!!
(I know that an electron card is free, but not many people have electron cards!.. nobody I know has anyway! )

How can they justify such a high transaction fee?????

    It'd be more on Ryanair.

    The real cost is about 20p, so that's a mark-up of 4,000%.

They do it because they can. It is still viewed as "optional" because of the electron card option.

The airline could argue that headline fares would have to rise by £8 if it was prevented from adding that charge, and probably feels it's not ripping you off.

The best option is to equip yourself with an electron card now ready to use when you book your next flight. It's a pain but it does save money. An easy option is to order one from the Halifax web site:

It ain't advice, just a useful comment sharing knowledge about an airline that has higher charges.

You're going on a return flight for £58, which is very good value thanks to Stelios.

Here's the advice, get involved with current campaigns against high card charges.

Even members of this site for at least 8 months still want to complain about easyjet/ryanair card charges.....they are SO easily avoided, but no-one will do it for you,you have to make the effort.

They don't - currently at least - have to.
