Orange and Personal Data Security

I left Orange last week after I discovered they do not encrypt your personal data and can see all your details, full passwords, bank etc in the clear.
When you call customer services and they ask for two letters from your password its not a system prompt, they can see the whole thing!
I discovered this when the Indian call centre droid made a joke about my password!
The premier service droid in the UK confirmed this when I got through to them as well.
If your the kind of person who uses the same password for everything, firstly you shouldnt, but if you do and your an orange customers then your at a serious risk of being pwnd as they likely have your email address as well along with all your other personal information clearly available!

This shouldnt be allowed, Surely...
In the US there was a call centre rep from the US carrier Sprint who had a notebook of customer details he had copyed from the system. If this happened here i wouldnt be suprised tbh0 -
As OP has only left Orange in last week, its more than likely the account will not be closed till final bills have been paid.
And what was the reason for phoning them? If you phone they are going to have to ask you security questions, if they didn't then you would whine there is no security.
As for passwords - own fault if you are using your email password as security password for services.0 -
Alot of companies do this, suprisingly my bank know all my bank account details and my credit card company know all my credit card details0

They have to be able to see all the info for when people call up and have forgotten their password, or when the CSR has to perform a deeper ID check.
Considereding how many acc's they see in an hour never mind a shift they're not going remember yours and if they sat there writing down all the info someone would soon notice.
Nothing to worry about.0 -
As above. ALL call centres are the same. Your data is as safe as it can be.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0
