Woodburner

Hello there! I've finally decided to get myself a energy saving woodburner. Great! So the cost of that is £300 odd pounds for the woodburner and £500 + for linging the chimney! HELLO? I'm almost contemplating getting the ladders out and doing the job myself... although the roof does look a bit slippery!
I need to find a way of doing this for much less! Can anyone help?
Thanks!

I think the rules on building regulation approval have changed (not sure when exactly). I read somewhere that you need to have any work on your chimney checked by the building regs people unless the work is done by an approved installer.
You might need to factor this cost in if you go down the DIY route.
May be worth a quick ‘Google’ to confirm.0 -

Maybe a HETAS man after tests might decide a lining is not necessary.0
