Why is it so hard to find a cheap easy to hoover dog bed

We have been through many beds. I started off buying large designer style beds, faux leather etc, to find that he simply wouldnt sleep in them. Although he is a collie, he seems not to like beds for his size. I then found a bed which he loved which was a nice cream colour (he is a white dog), which had smooth material, very firm foam, so was easy to hoover.
That lasted a while but when we washed the foam it broke up and he had pawed at the foam and ripped it when the covers were in the wash each time.
So then we thought for ease of use, we got a plastic bed with a mattress, but I have noticed that his limp is worse since we got that one and now want to get a foam bed again.
I find that either they are fleecy (impossible to hoover off properly), or the foam is thin and weak, or the sides are not high enough. I wish they still did the bed I bought before but cannot find it anywhere. Ive given up trying to find something that colour coordinates (the cream bed did) and now will just get anything that is easy to clean and wont fall apart.

My pair have home made beds, I get a few old or new single duvet's ( they can go in the washing machine ), I get some material the colour I want cut it into an oblong, sew velcro on both ends then sew up the sides. I have black fun fur dog beds in the living room and red velour ones in the bed room for them.0

I use cage mats from Jollyes as a bed for my collie.
They are made by Gor Pets and come in different colours.
Google it as I cannot post links.
They are machine washable and I hoover them easily. I use a rubber hand brush on them first to get the majority of the hair off
Not too dear either (£15.99 for the largest I think)0 -
Zara has an orthopeadic bed (zooplus) that has its own CREAM inside - whoever thought CREAM is a good idea for inside of a dog bed must be insane.
Anyway - I cover it with a blanket all over - wash the blanket when needed, bed as good as new all the time...0 -
i bought a touch dog bed - expensive but has been in the wash loads and still looks brand new and holds it's shape, been well worth it.
i do the same as above have a supply of blankets that are easy to wash and dry and change them often.0 -

Cream?? What sort of cream? Isn't that a bit messy?
I've never heard of that before...0 -
I just got a new one for one of mine and its faux fur (was half price in the zooplus sale on line). Its cream coloured but the plus for me was that the cover can be zipped off and bunged in the washing machine. Its so difficult to clean the beds that dont have removable covers.

Thought I would offer some advice..I did the same and went through many beds and then I discovered the joy of VetBed!! Each of my dogs have a 6ft length folded in half and then each week, it gets thrown in the washing machine and tumbled dried if I want extra fluffiness.....
If you look on Ebay, you will find sellers that do 4 lengths for the proce of 3, giving you loads of spare. I think I bought this lot 4 years ago for about £45...'' A man who defends himself, has a fool for a client''0 -
We also only use vetbeds. Panda loves them and you can wash them and they dry really quickly
search around online, some places sell them really cheaply, I swear ours were something like £3 (rubber backed ones are better as if they don't have the rubber backing then they slide all over the place if you have hard floors) 0
