As some have said here go for one of the others firefox being one of the best.
There are so many alternative options out now one wonders why so many people still chose to use I.E knowong that they are not bug free.pompeyfaith wrote: »Yes indeed many are updated to newer versions because features have been added, however they do not get the threats that I.E get and are also not open to hacking like I.E is.

That still does not stop IE9 being the default browser0 -
right, let's clear something up.....the OP CAN'T use IE9 'coz she's on XP, so IE7 or IE8 will be what she uses (in IE terms here, not considering other browsers at the mo).
lucy, if you use windows updates to get your pc fully up-to-date, you'll end up with IE8, which is ok.
If, once you've got it up-to-date and running IE8, you may wish to look at some other browsers, like for instance:-
1. Opera. my personal favourite - fast and lots of good features.
2. Firefox - liked by many, some find it slow and clunky
3. Chrome - by google...but does this in itself make it good?
you can have all of these installed on your pc at the same time, so why not download all of them and play about until you find the one(s) you prefer and use those ?? An awful lot of people use more than one browser, and there's nowt wrong with that......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0
