The DWP will expect you to still use your savings to pay bills. So if you spent £6k on reducing your c/c's, they would roast your ar5e, however, if you added £5 a week to each child's ISA they would not even notice it especially if it was via a cash withdrawal rather than a bank transfer.
They would, for instance, be happy for you to buy a new washing machine if your old one blew-up and was beyond economical repair, but would get the severe ar5e if you just went out a bought one because it was better than the one you already have.Never Knowingly Understood.
