Price of dell PCs

I've decided that I want a new PC, and am looking at getting a Dell with Athlon dual core processor - possibly costing around £650 including the vat.

My question to all you Dell price watchers - is it likely to be cheaper or more expensive or about the same price after Christmas?

Technology moves very quickly and so do Dell's prices.

It's almost impossible to tell what will be offered next month.

If you see a good deal, go for it.

As above, you just can't tell what's around the corner. If you see something that you like and you want it, just buy it if you're happy with it. Whatever you buy you'll see a faster / better version in a few months time.

I've just ordered a Dell E521 too. Have I made a good choice for a mid-range PC? Anyone else pleased with theirs?
  • Recently got a Dell Inspiron 6400 (laptop), very pleased with it and Dells service.Ordered on a Monday delivered on a Thursday.

When you order you can "barter" for upgrades and other services with the salesman.

Hopefully the service is just as good if anything goes wrong and a repair or help is required!

LOL. I don't think so with Dell. It helps if you speak fluent Gujarati
  • I am pleased with my Dell Computor I bought a couple of years back, the only downside is the charge if you purchase one on HP and then their Customer Service is very poor too if you tried to speak with them to resolve a problem with your account.

I found that by emailing them it works ok.

Jeannine,How much you pay for yours ? my brother ordered mine through Dell outlet.I didnt need the screen,as i already have a flat screen.I think the postage is a bit too much ,It was a whopping £50,£30 would be enough. Dell media experience is rubbish.
Oh and the problem i had getting connected to the internet was a nightmare,it has a in built modem and a controller thingy, that kept knocking my modem i have to use for AOL off, then, Dell seems to run a internet connection program every 10 mins, and it would knock me off line again,
. Apart from that, its a great computer.Very quick ,this has 4 times more ram than my old computer,a huge Graphic card and ,huge hard drve.

Check dells outlet store, they have £95 off systems and free delivery at the moment. According to dell these are returned machines or ones that have been cancelled befor they left the factory, may get a bargain.

I found all my contact with Dell to be in impeccable English whether phone or e.mail, although the call centre is in India I found no problems at all.

I had a great conversation with them about the state of English cricket!

As the laptop has worked perfectly, including wireless broadband, I have not had occasion to test their help, support or repair abilities.
