Confused over BA baggage allowance

We are flying London to Montreal then NYC to London in December under the "world traveller" class.
On the "manage my booking" page it says my hand baggage is 1 (One) x 23kg per person but on the check backage help web page it implies flights to Canada and USA get 2 (Two) x 23kg bags.
If I only get 1 bag I considered adding 1 more bag at £32 but the help wording is open ended "If you wish to take more bags than your free checked baggage allowance, you can pay to check in up to 10 extra bags per person with the same weight restrictions as your free allowance." Does that mean I get another bag but the two bags can't total more than the 23kg allowance or both can independently weigh up to 23kg each?

I've also just twigged the £32 is per flight so it's actually £64.0

In economy you get one 23kg bag in the hold for free. You can also bring one carry on bag (56cm x 45cm x 25cm), *and* a laptop or handbag (45cm x 36cm x 20cm).
This does apply to flights to the US and Canada - the oddities are flights to Brazil, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria and connecting journeys between India and USA/Bermuda/Canada ( http://www.britishairways.com/travel/bagchk/public/en_gb )
If you want extra bags you get charged per bag, and each new bag can weigh up to 23kg. They can weigh more, but you'll get charged more.Legal team on standby0 -

I'm inclined to go with the website booking and what Malkie says but I've emailed BA for full clarification, this is part of my honeymoon so I could do without the grief

I did find a few articles from 2009 where BA where reported to remove the 2nd piece of luggage from World traveller class.0 -
Remember, with BA you get 2 pieces of hand luggage per person too. 1 can be like those trolley bags - you can normally get about 10KG in those. and maybe carry ladies handbag or lap top.
So that effectively gives you 33KG per person luggage without paying for any extra.0 -
BA changed the baggage allowance in economy from 2 x 23kgs to 1 x 23kgs about 18 months ago. You are also allowed one piece of hand baggage plus a personal items such as a hand bag or laptop bag as has already been mentioned.
However there is no restriction on the weight of the hand baggage, only the size, as long as you can lift it unaided into the overhead bins.0 -
Thanks all
