Yes, so did I.I am not a cat (But my friend is)0 -
have had a friend who was assessed by atos and has lost all his benefits as they said he was fit for work.
He had a stomach by pass a year ago and still sick most days, bad heart for the last 20 yrs, he can only walk as far as the end of the drive, bad hips due to the weight, anxiety and wets himself. plus other things.
Some days he is better than others but some days he is really really bad.
He has had to go and get a job to which he had to lie on the application and say he had no medical conditions. He has collapsed at work three times and constantly comes home crying in pain. I think something really bad will happen to him soon as he really is not well. He lost his appeal.
I think the annoying thing is he is too poorly and too stressed to fight anymore and the people who are not genuinely ill keep their money as they have all the time and energy to fight and win to keep it.
He also has mental health issues which how do fill these forms in when you do not understand them and when he gets someone to help him they do not even listen. Atos had to visit him during the snow and was fed up at having to drive in it and that he had come miles and had miles to get back. He was also reprimanded for cancelling the first visit as he told them the village was cut off because of the snow. I said he should have let them try the journey!!!
My mother has had a stroke and only has 8 months until she retires and they have told her to get back to work. Most days she can't even remember what the grand children are called.
I am all for getting the con artists back to work but they seem to be bullying the genuinely poorly people back to work as they are the easier targets.0
