What does one purchase for a newborn, MoneySaving style?

  • Now I have a baby, I realise how tricky it is buying for a newborn and the parents! We were really grateful and touched by all the gifts we received but some things mentioned already would've been unused by us (we've passed stuff on if so). We use reusable nappies and wipes, prefer to use natural bath products etc.

Our son got 2 Duffle coats for xmas which were beautiful but because of the size and style weren't practical for a baby and fitted when the weather warmed up. They hang unworn which is such a shame.

I'd go down the keepsake route or something for babies room. Mamas n papas and m & s do some beautiful money boxes etc. I bought my son a beautiful musical snow globe and ceramic elephant money box when I was pregnant from m&s and they would've made fab gifts.
