Wouldn't it be better to save it as PDF from open office - much better to send out, everyone can open it. But if youre stuck save as RTF.0

No because it is likely that the keyword stripping software they use on CVs won't function as well or at all with a .pdf document (in the OP's original comment pdf is not mentioned as one of the permitted files anyway)0 -
