Are you on a website like reed.co.uk?
They are basically saying that if you want to upload your CV it needs to be in one of the formats that they mention.
.doc or .docx are microsoft word files.
.doc is an older version (up to 97 I think) .docx is a newer version.
.txt is what microsoft notepad saves files as (you don't want to send your CV in this format as it won't have any font, size, bold etc)
.rtf is a universal file format that can be used in a number of applications inc. word, openoffice, wordpad etc.
Do you have a CV document saved on your computer at the moment? What kind of file is it saved as, or what program do you open it with?0 -
The CV is saved on Open Office,it says ODF Text document0

Ok well then this can be resolved easily. If you open the file in OpenOffice and select File, Save As and pic either .doc or .docx
This will create a new file and won't overwrite your existing file. Now you can select the new file in the form and it should work.
Let me know how you get on.0 -

If you follow this guide you should be able to find it. Otherwise you can save it as an .rtf file.

Let's hope that the OP isn't applying for IT work.0

Why don't you change the default in OpenOffice so that it saves all your text files as .doc or .rtf?
.odf is a perfectly good file system, but sadly most people won't be able to open it, as they won't be using OpenOffice. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
if you dont have the option to change the format, you can always use an online converter.
