Private parking ticket scam

One of my firm's drivers was parked on some private land but there were no signs displayed to prohibit parking. He returned ti his vehicle to find a so-called PCN on the windscreen. For some reason he was not convinced of its leagality, and he was right to be so. The contact address and telephone number did not exist and the only way of paying was by credit card. The company, (I can't remember the name), is not registered with Companies House and there is no trace of them whatsoever. So, be careful. If you get a ticket on private land, check that the issuing company is kosher. This looks like a new scam, you get a ticket and just pay it, also giving your credit card details out!
Why did he park on someone else's property without their permission? The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
I don't think that many are getting the point. I think this outfit was merely trying to get credit card details.
But if the address and telephone number did not exist, how could you give them any of your credit card details? The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0
