When a customer asks me to spare a minute and to follow them to where they have found an out of date item, I get annoyed because it's another staff member messing up. I do know that things will sometimes get missed but it's when it is a full tray of potatoes or a tray of sandwich fillers for etc that gets picked up, it's very Arrgh!

yeh i understand what you mean, i felt the same but then i most likely missed items that other people picked up and felt the same, i got more frustrated when it was due to the stock rotation which isnt hard to do is it

I wouldn't call the HMV price differences a fail. It's quite normal to go into any of the HMV stores and find three different prices for the exact same product depending on which part of the store you're in.

It drives my mum nuts but I just find it a decent excuse to thoroughly comb the store to ensure I've got the 'best price' :D

Pees me off when the prices are missing from the item hanger. So stores expect me to hunt for an elusive member of staff to find out if I want to buy it? Off and sod spring to mind. It's not rocket science to see that a price tag is missing. PCWorld/Currys are bad at this. Also narks me off when the shelf/item hanger says "Out of stock" and yet there are 1001 of the blighters on the shelf.

I have gone into HMV and saw the same boxset priced at 3 prices, I did want the boxset so got it at the lower price (even cheaper then online) Spending a extra 10 mins looking around saved me money.

Morrisons; Steam veg (4 pack) £1.29 current shelf price, but there were some marked 2 for £3 (probably old priced stock)

Tesco; meat offer 3 for £10 (red stickers) - watch out as they are gun-ho with the stickers and you won't get £2 to £3 off, as not all meat is included in the offer!!

Argos: dumb with the ITunes £25 x 2 for £40 saying they didn't have two in stock!!!! (ended up with finding loads in the warehouse) Have to be behind the tills to scan in!!

HMV - see pic below. A 4GB USB memory stick, great bargain reduced from the original price of £14.99 to £10. Strange as the one behind was for sale for £7.99 as a standard price!!!

This looks like the prices are dropping faster than they can sell their stock... Even £7.99 isn't cheap compared to online prices, where you can get them for less that £5 post paid!

Assuming it's the same (or near as dammit) product on the ticket, I hasten to add (before you all go taking a £229 TV ticket and moving it onto the £2000 one on the sly!! Yes, people try that one *sigh*)

' near as dammit' made me laugh, my dad uses that phrase all the time, but i've never heard anyone else use it.!!:rotfl:

I've seen quite a few people in my time TAKE the price tickets off the hangers so they can remember what the product and price is, without caring at all that removing the ticket means nobody else will know the price, or considering that the staff won't magically know it's gone, and that when they DO spot it, it'll take a few hours to order/receive a new ticket.

Tickets don't magically vanish, people take them, as staff only tend to remove them to put a new one in.

I totally agree, I must admit I'm often inclined to make a point of it and keep asking what the price is for different things. Especially if there are staff wandering around asking people if they can help?! Yes - label your shelves properly, that would help! :D

That's what I would do to be honest, somewhere like mymemory etc. Even at £7.99 I didn't think it was a real bargain, let alone £10 reduced from £14 (apparently). The memory sticks in Sainsburys and Tesco also never seem to rival online prices although I did get the bargain posted on here buying a 1TB drive from Tesco online for about £40.
