its just such a horrible thought that someone can work their butt off to get a house and someone else can just come in and claim it as their own! England - SORT YOURSELF OUT!

I wouldn't waste time involving the law in this - they'd be trespassers and they can claim what they want, it's my house and I'll be living in it thanks.

If I came home and found squatters had moved in, I wouldn't be ringing the police either. I'd be kicking the door in and physically chucking the cheeky !!!!!!!s out onto the front garden. If they had an issue with that then by all means they could call the authorities and I would deny all knowledge.

I think all these Squatters Rights laws need updating for this century. Seems we pander to minorities such as gypsies too much and consider their rights above others. French friends look on in horror at our quaint outdated laws. In France there is no need to gate/bar/block access to properties/car parks/village greens/cricket pitches/school playgrounds because there are effective means to instantly remove pish takers.

Civ Div police wouldn't have been able to do anything as the squatters had made the mistake of squatting in an married quarter,which was off camp (outside the wire) & his wife had gone down home for a while while he was away.
Why no one noticed the squatters while he was away,I don't know,but they trashed the place while they were there.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. It doesn't happen very often. Stop watching alarmist Daily Mail telly and you'll probably feel happier.
