Why's that? I was being serious. I've got a phone for £15 that hits every requirement spot on. Lasts 2 weeks on a charge, starts up immediately, unbreakable, reliable, perfect size, clear screen, simple menu layout, etc

Yeah but remember you bought it to use as a phone I presume nothing more nothing less and it cost you b!!!!! all - you weren't in the market for some sort of fashion item, camera, to play music, forecast the weather etc - you own other products specifically designed to fulfil those tasks

Exactly. I use a phone to talk to people when I'm out. I use a tool better suited to the task of the other jobs ie: a computer with a proper keyboard and big screen.

Tom, no offence but clearly the OP is looking at a k750i so he wants more than a basic model....and suggesting the Nokia 1100 aint gonna help him is it....

The camera's nothing special on the K750i. The shutter is so slow it takes a photo after everyone's moved :( Plus you are limited to 9 secs video clips (the video starts in very delayed fashion too). Plus you zoom in (on my phone anyhow) and it doesn't save the zoomed image, just the original pre-zoom image. I've just switched from a basic SE to the K750i and I'm pretty disappointed. Suspect have to spend way more if you want a really decent camera, music phone so Tom has a point - maybe sticking to a basic phone's not such a bad idea. Otherwise I would look at better phones than the K750i (ok may be more than £100).

MY K700I WILL RECORD UNTIL THE MEMORY FILLS UP (sorry about caps!)

go into the video mode, then press more > then scroll to video length > press select and select unlimited. then you should be able to record until your memory runs out

Don't want to hijack the OP's thread but have gone thru all settings and my K750i doesn't seem to have a length of video setting. I'll check with SE. And Tesco :S
    thanks g_g.
  • I know for a fact that you can record video footage until your memory is full on the k750i. I have this phone and I can do it. I found out how to do it on https://www.esato.com, but I don't remember the specifics. Like the poster who gave instruction for the k700i, the k750i instructions are much the same and are very simple. I'll try to find the details. :)

thanks for the link; can't find anything on that site after searching the obvious for 1/2 hour or so. I do believe you guys! Hope it's not just my phone. To get it to go to 'more' from video settings I had to pretend to start filming a vid clip (??!!) and only then did 'more' appear. It's still under the 28 day returns, so want to check it out thoroughly.
I will call SE. Post if they can solve the problem. Do you guys have a big delay in shutter speed and video clip start up (from when you press the shutter to when it starts filming?). Missed my cats having a boxing match - duration 10 seconds - on the ph as it was still starting itself up.

To stick to the thread: is there better than this with camera/vid for this sort of price? If you go up (£120 or so) in price do you get something much better?

Phoned SE as Tesco tech support were patronising and totally unhelpful. SE say my phone is faulty so am getting a replacement.
The way to take longer video clips is to go to settings > high quality video.
SE say the delayed shutter speed is only improved in their K800i which is probably eye wateringly expensive.
hope this helps others too :)

Pigeonpie - To record unlimited video on a SE k750i you go into video mode (obviously :D ) and then 'Settings' and then choose 'Shoot mode' and then choose 'High quality video' from that menu and that's it! You can now record until your memory is full. Enjoy! :T

PS - you may also want to go into 'Settings' and then 'Save to' and choose 'Memory Stick' from that menu and then you can fill up your memory card instead of the paltry phone memory.
