VW Garage double standards

You've not noticed the comma after oil.
£85 for 4 litres of oil, filters, fluids, etc.
The oil alone was £52.62
Black circles has them (bridgestone potenza 235/45/17) at £134, and mytyres at £120/each. Fitting/disposal on top of that.
Ah, thank goodness for that, the oil price was a bit more reasonable. Those are expensive tyres and I am glad my Golf doesn't have them. I paid £416 for four Continental TS830 winter tyres and rims in November (195/65R15) including delivery from Mytyre.co.uk so seeing how much you paid I was a bit shocked to say the least."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

My Skoda Octavia vrs has the same engine.
After a few timing belts snapped the schedule was altered to 60,000 miles or 4 years Whichever comes first. This applies to this engine in Skodas,Audis,Seats and VWs.
I was quoted £575 by the main dealer but got it done for £380 at an independent specialist.
Unless you've got up to £5000 spare for a new engine I would get it done.
A local garage should charge about £80 for the front pads including fitting,It's a very easy job.0 -
Same engine is 5 years in an Audi.0
