Dear Sir or Madam,
Re: Account number: *****************
I am writing in relation to the above payment protection (PPI) policy which I believe was mis-sold to me.
I believe you have not treated me fairly for the following reasons;
• The PPI was added without my knowledge.
• You have been punished by the Financial Services Authority for failing to treat customers fairly and I do not believe that the PPI I bought was sold in my best interest.
• I was sold a insurance premium policy that was not fully explained to me as the whole cost of the insurance was not made clear to me.
• When I cancelled my insurance I was not offered any Refund.
Unless you can prove that the policy was fair and reasonable and that I was treated fairly when I was sold the insurance, I demand a full refund of all premiums, and subsequent interest on these payments, that I have paid in relation to this policy. I also expect 8% interest to be added to each payment I have made as this is the statutory amount a court would pay.
I look forward to your full and prompt response to this letter. If this matter is not settled within eight weeks of this letter I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman to investigate my complaint.
Yours faithfully,

STEVEN5ANDHU,,Hi, yes the PPI was detailed on the statement. I would just send them the letter, if you are unsure It will cost you just over a £1 to post it recorded, if you have been paying PPI you will get it back , if you didn't im sure they will confrim in writing.
good luck0 -
Firstly, well done on the successful claim
I am in the process of reviewing the many credit agreement I had in place, Cahoot being one of them.
Today I received from them a copy of my Credit Agreement but they haven't enclosed the T&Cs even although I requested these.
Can you please let me know if the PPI cover was clearly noted on your Credit Agreement as I can't see a mention of it anywhere on mine for either my Flexi-Loan or Credit Card agreement. Both of these were taken out in 2001 though.
Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated0 -

I did not have the credit Agreement available. but PPI was on each credit card statement.
with the credit agreements that i have been unsure if PPI cover was included, I have just sent them the same letter. worst case its cost me a stamp.
Good luck with your claims0 -
Dear Phillmarsh,
A big, big thank you. I have used the letter you so helpfully posted. I came across the account number for my cahoot flexi loan in a complaint letter I had written back in 2005. I didn't get anywhere then and had long since given up hope of ever getting this money back.
However, with your letter I have successfully managed to claim back a substantial amount of money. Thank you so much.0 -
Hi Phil
Thanks for your letter. I am in the process of contacting Cahoot for my account details as I no longer have any information from a loan taken out in 2004 and paid off in 2009. I have since moved house and changed my surname. Once I have the details i need I will then use your letter. I will also look into the possibility that nothing was questioned on my pre existing medical condition which I doubt now they would have paid out for which I was not aware at the time i took out the loan. Did you also send the questionnaire about your account/loan/ppi which is on the moneysaving expert site with your letter or was your letter alone enough? Did they pay out after only one letter?
Many thanks
